Barefoot Walking - The Red Balloon

Brushed my hair out of my eyes and looked for the sky
But it’s not there
I walked around looked for the ground
That I can’t be found I pull out my hair
I leave my coat out in the car with my leotards
Now I’m standing here
The other kids are in front of me
And I count to three
I’m still standing here

My floating feet can’t stand the heat of the concrete ground
Where do you go when you don’t know ups and downs
Little girl with the angel eyes looks about my size
She wasn’t here and she wasn’t over there
She was everywhere

I close my eyes and look into the sky
And I’m falling down
The daisy’s growing I don’t know
I keep falling how
Daisy’s is my size and I cover my eyes
Summer salts and a chocolate malt
I’m not here and I’m not over there
That’s not my fault no it’s not my fault

My floating feet can’t stand the heat of the concrete ground
Where do you go when you don’t know ups and downs
Little girl with the angel eyes looks about my size
She wasn’t here and she wasn’t over there
She was everywhere

The red balloon
The red balloon
The red balloon
The red balloon

Looked in her eyes and she looks in mine
Look at her face, look at her face
I wish I had a red balloon
To tie around my waist
To tie around my waist

My floating feet can’t stand the heat of the concrete ground
Where do you go when you don’t know ups and downs
Little girl with the angel eyes looks about my size
She wasn’t here and she wasn’t over there
She was everywhere

The red balloon
The red balloon
The red balloon
The red balloon
